Spring officially arrived earlier this week according to the calendar, and even earlier than that if our friend pollen has anything to say about it! Welcome Spring and hello, pollen - you announced your arrival in a big way for many as we see, smell, and feel you! The bee in the picture right there is having a party with you, isn't it? And many thanks to you too, dear bee, for we have a lot to be thankful for with you as well!
Nature is amazing! There is so much going on, beautifully orchestrated and right on time. The main focus of this quick little post though is to simply show you some examples of what pollen looks like! Yes, we know it looks like yellow wind that just so happens to enjoy landing on freshly washed cars. We also know it turns into sort of a yellow "paste" when rained on. But wait, there's MORE! Thanks to the advances of science and the miracle of microscopes, there are some lovely pictures available to see the sacred geometry of pollen. Years ago via a social media post I saw an amazing picture of pollen that just so happens to be in the shape of a dodecahedron (the platonic solid shape representing the fifth element!) To say I was shocked, and extremely pleased, was an understatement!
I went on a search for that same exact image for purposes of this post, but was not able to find a copy of the image that I had permission to link to or use. However, I instead found an article on the geometry of pollen (which includes pictures - go look!) on a website called Cosmic Core - follow the links and enjoy a learning adventure! Many thanks to the creator of the Cosmic Core website for her dedication to the sharing of information on a wide variety of fascinating subjects!
